Techniques: Hand dyeing, fabric manipulation, trapunto stuffing, soft edge applique, beading.

Design Concept: State of Flow was inspired by the golden extrusions of the sulphur springs in Yellowstone National Park. The design concept was a development out of the Ripples series- with the padded shapes leading the viewer’s eye through to a third dimension.
Ripples

Design Concept: The Ripples series was inspired by a photograph of water running over rocks and sand. I was drawn to the gold lamé to depict the colour and movement of the water across the sand.

Design Concept: The Ripples series was inspired by a photograph of water running over rocks and sand. For this quilt I wanted to change the pattern of the ripples and have the water rushing through a narrow neck.

Materials : Hand dyed silk and cotton, crushed velvet, velour, opalescent ribbon, beads, silver lame, some printed fabric.
Design Concept: The Ripples series was inspired by a photograph of water running over rocks and sand. In this quilt I used silver lamé instead of the gold lamé and a deeper palette of turquoise and blues to depict the colour and movement of the water across the sand.
